To go Blu-Ray HD or DVD?
When considering the content between a DVD and Blu-Ray, some factors have to be taken into account:
If say, a fly-through animation is needed for an architectural project in Blu-Ray HD, the renders will
be of a higher quality but at the cost of needing to be rendered at a higher resolution format.
This makes the render times vastly higher and increasing costs.
A presentation of images or HD footage will also need to be of this high standard in order to take full
effect of the HD format.
The equipment for the event or promotion such the Blu-Ray player and HD screen will also need to be purchased and can be quite costly when compared to the DVD alternatives. If there is a budget for it however, Blu-Ray HD will give an amazingly crisp high quality presentation.
The introduction of new technology is always great but it comes at a high cost and therefore low availability to the general public.
A filter system is generally used whereby Blu-Ray will slowly but surely start to filter itself in and will be available to those who would like to make use of it but not a necessity to those who still only have DVD players at home.
