3D Rendering
This last phase is where all the 3d modeling, 3d texturing and 3d lighting come together to create the final rendered images or animations. The 3D rendering process depicts this three-dimensional scene as a picture taken from any specific perspective or animation path. It then calculates the lighting, textures and effects together. This can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to several hours depending on the detail within the scene. The computer then outputs a digital image or known as a render.
The Rendering process
To start the process off we being by setting up a virtual camera (or any required amount) within the 3D computerized scene.
Once this is established, we use our specific rendering software to tell the computer what to calculate and in which manor when considering the textures and lighting on the 3d model. Extra effects can also be added using the rendering software such as fog atmospherics, optical effects such as lens flares, depth of field or DoF (which is also a photographic technique) and motion blur on moving animations.
Applying these effects correctly is what achieves photo-realistic renderings, Skyscape Visualizations’ well trained and experienced artists are very capable to do just that. With our knowledge and keen eye to applying these subtle, yet very necessary effects, is what helps us excel over our competitors.
The 3d render can then be taken into a compositing or photo editing software package where it can be tweaked and integrated within live footage making it appear as though the photo was taken with the new development building or product design already in the shot even though it doesn’t yet exist in reality.
